J Dusi Paper Street Cornflower Blue 2023

Bold and detailed wine with a deep, deep color, its mild nuances are expertly well integrated by a fascinating array of aromas, comprising blackcurrant, acai berry, and red plum, which mingle with a smoky, toasted spice that adds complexity and warmth. The undertones are both spicy and savory, with boysenberry, black raspberry, and mocha adding a fruity and chocolatey dimension, but earthy cocoa powder and tobacco smoke provide a pleasing savory note. The aftertaste is peppery and spicy, with a charming tannin backbone that complements the wine's full-bodied texture. Overall, this wine is a masterclass in structure and nuance, showcasing the potential of Mouvedre in a way that is both bold and refined. 4.0/5.0

Pleasant, full-bodied wine with an drinkable character.

Rich, full-bodied wine with a deep, deep color. The nose is dominated by blackberry jam, cocoa, and tobacco, with delicate subtle flavors of herbs and spices. The tongue is strong and bold, with a smooth, jammy tactile quality and a enjoyable tanginess that hides the tannins. The finish is medium, with a lingering sweetness and a peppery note. Overall, a well-balanced and pleasing wine that pairs well with a variety of dishes, including ratatouille and a cheese plate. It's a bold, high-alcohol wine that's not too complex, making it a impressive option for those looking for a rich, full-bodied wine.
