Henry Marionnet Terres Blondes Gamay is produced by the Marionnet family estate. Their vineyard was replanted and expanded between 1967 and 1978 by Henry Marionnet. Today it is made up of 58 hectares, mainly composed of Gamay (2/3) and Sauvignon Blanc (1/3). These two grape varieties are best suited to this continental part of Touraine, supported by a terroir of flint clay with more or less sand or gravel.
The Domaine is distinguished by wines made from single, ungrafted “franc de pied” vines, over 5.5 hectares or 10% of the vineyard. In 1990, Henry Marionnet was the first winemaker in France to make sulphite-free wines from Gamay which produced the “Première Vendange” cuvée.
Terres Blondes Gamay is produced using carbonic maceration. It is unoaked allowing the juicy, high-toned fresh fruit to shine. It blends together aromas of cranberry, pomegranate, and orange peel all culminating in a dry refreshing finish.
