A wine of enduring quality, Sancere from Henri B. continues to impress, 15 years after its release. meanwhile it has not yet reached its full potential, its timeless character and concentrated tactile quality make it a compelling favorite for those chasing a classic Bordeaux.

Consistent and well-balanced Upper Loire white, with a citrus and minerality profile that is well-supported by its acidity. at the same time it is a good wine, it falls short of being fantastic due to a lack of quality and value.

What the web is saying

Henri Bourgeois Sancerre D'Antan is praised for its refined minerality and balanced flavors of citrus, green apple, and tropical fruits. While some find it elegant and complex, others note it lacks value. The wine's smooth texture and vibrant acidity are highlighted, with hints of honey, oak, and floral notes. It's seen as age-worthy, with potential to improve over time.

Voss Experts4.3

This Henri Bourgeois Sancerre D'Antan is a classic French Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley. It has a bright, fresh aroma with notes of citrus, green apple and white flowers. On the palate, it has a lively acidity, balanced by a soft, creamy texture and notes of tropical fruit, passionfruit and citrus. The finish is crisp and refreshing, with a lingering hint of minerality. Enjoy this crisp and refreshing white now or cellar for a few years for additional complexity.
