Grafen Neipperg Neipperger Lemberger

Multi faceted and interesting wine with a rich, earthy character. The nose is led by by a light blend of spices, bringing cinnamon, clove, and black cherry, set against a backdrop of woody accents and a hint of bitterness. The tongue is dry and high in acidity, with a medium body and a refined texture. The tannins are well-integrated, and the finale is long and satisfying. However, the wine's profile is somewhat uneven, with a tendency towards over-oaking that may have contributed to its relatively low score. Nevertheless, the wine's finesse and dimension make it a compelling option for those willing to give it time to mature. 86/100 ($34.10)

Complex, dry wine with a unique flavor profile that eluded me. It paired surprisingly well with certain ingredients, such as fruit, vegetables, and inky chocolate, but struggled to find common ground with others, like ham and eggs. A better match would be a richer, fattier meat, a deep cheese, or a hearty, savory pretzel. The wine's tendency to improve with air was a welcome surprise. My husband's enthusiasm for it was a pleasant surprise, too.

The fruit-forward profile is expertly balanced, with a elegant blend of blackcurrants, blackberries, and mulberries. The fruity nuances are skillfully integrated, adding complexity and depth to the altogether character.
