Wine with a gamey nose and acidic undertones, though not particularly impressive for its price.

Decent option, but not my cup of tea. A bit too sharp for my palate, but not a complete disaster. Worth considering, but not a standout.

What the web is saying

Giuliano Rosati Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is noted for its vibrant and lively character, with flavors of black currant, cherry, and red fruit. While some appreciate its light body and crisp finish, others find it sharp and one-dimensional. It pairs well with Italian dishes like Caprese salad. The wine has a gamey nose and acidic undertones, with a mix of sweet and spicy elements.

Voss Experts4.5

This Montepulciano d'Abruzzo presents a deep ruby hue, indicative of its robust character. The nose is a harmonious blend of ripe black cherry and plum, underscored by hints of dried herbs and a subtle earthiness. On the palate, it reveals a medium to full body with velvety tannins and a vibrant acidity that provides balance and structure. The wine's complexity is further enhanced by notes of dark chocolate and a whisper of anise, leading to a lingering finish. This is a quintessential expression of Montepulciano, showcasing the varietal's potential for depth and elegance.
