This Pinot Noir from the Ferrington Vineyard is a masterclass in elegance and complexity, showcasing the quintessential characteristics of Anderson Valley terroir. The bouquet opens with a symphony of ripe red cherries, wild strawberries, and a whisper of forest floor, underscored by delicate rose petal and subtle spice nuances. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a silky texture, revealing layers of cranberry, pomegranate, and a hint of black tea. The wine's vibrant acidity and finely-grained tannins provide structure and poise, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish. A benchmark Pinot Noir, perfect for cellaring or immediate enjoyment.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.

Failla Ferrington Vineyard Pinot Noir originates from the Anderson Valley, known for its cool climate influenced by Pacific Ocean breezes. This Pinot Noir is crafted with a focus on expressing the vineyard's terroir. Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo fermentation with native yeasts to enhance complexity. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, with a portion being new, to add subtle oak nuances without overpowering the fruit. The result is a balanced wine with bright acidity, showcasing red fruit flavors and earthy undertones, suitable for those who appreciate a refined and elegant Pinot Noir.
