Rich, dense, and decadent, this dense baking chocolate is a true indulgence.

Sweet and fruity nose, with suggestions of ripe strawberries and a subtle tartness. The tasting is polished and approachable, with a refined stability of flavors. The tannins are well-integrated, adding a light grip to the broadly experience. A excellent quality for the price, this wine is a solid selection for everyday drinking.

Distinct difference from California's CS, with a taste that was more akin to a lesser-known Italian producer, such as Unico Brindisi. The first highlight was similar, but ultimately fell short of expectations.

What the web is saying

Essay Cabernet Sauvignon offers a mix of rich, full-bodied flavors with notes of dark fruit, mint, and vanilla. While some appreciate its well-integrated tannins and nuanced sweetness, others find it falls short of expectations, especially compared to California's offerings. It's praised for being a good value for everyday drinking, though some find the peppery background off-putting. Best paired with light meals.

Voss Experts4.3

The Essay Cabernet Sauvignon displays a moderate ruby color with purple reflections. The nose opens with an array of luscious blackcurrants and ripe plums, underscored by subtle notes of chocolate and forest floor. Notes of bell pepper and crushed mint provide and uplifting freshness to counter the dark fruit notes. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and rich, showcasing a balance of dark fruit flavors and supple tannins. Hints of cocoa and capsicum emerge on the modest, fruity finish.
