WINE DESCRIPTION
Dönnhoff's Grauburgunder grows in two vineyards: one-third in the Felsenberg in Oberhausen with a thicker clay layer, and two-thirds in the Kreuznacher Hinkelstein with heavier, clayey soils. Although these soils are generally unsuitable for Riesling, Dönnhoff's Burgunder style remains pure, in line with the estate's Rieslings. Fermentation and aging take place in Stückfass and Doppelstückfass. A bit of bâtonnage is applied, as the Grauburgunder benefits from it. The result is a characterful wine that reflects the diverse soils and careful vinification at Dönnhoff.
