Voss Expert4.5/5

Voss Expert tasting note

This Cabernet Sauvignon presents a deep garnet hue, indicative of its concentrated character. The bouquet is an intricate tapestry of blackcurrant, cassis, and graphite, underscored by subtle hints of cedar and forest floor, hallmark traits of its Yarra Valley provenance. On the palate, it reveals a full-bodied structure, with finely grained tannins providing a firm backbone. The seamless integration of ripe dark fruit and savory herbaceous notes is complemented by a vibrant acidity, leading to a persistent finish with echoes of dark chocolate and a touch of mint. This wine exemplifies the elegance and finesse typical of premium Australian Cabernet Sauvignon.

Dominique Portet Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from grapes grown in the cool climate of the Yarra Valley, Australia, which provides a long ripening season ideal for developing complex flavors. The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve its fruit purity, followed by aging in French oak barrels to impart subtle spice and structure. This Cabernet Sauvignon is designed to offer a balanced expression with ripe blackcurrant and plum notes, complemented by fine tannins and a touch of oak influence. It is suitable for immediate enjoyment or short-term cellaring.
