This Fixin 1er Cru 'Clos Napoléon' from Domaine Pierre Gelin is an exquisite pinot noir. On the nose, it offers aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and herbs with a hint of roasted coffee. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-structured, with a pleasing balance of tannins and acidity. Flavors of dark red fruit, forest floor, and spice are accentuated by a long, lingering finish. Prima
Gentle and smooth wine with a delicate ripeness that extends pleasantly. The fruit accents are well-balanced and approachable, with a lively acidity that cuts through the richness. The tannins are well-integrated, providing a soft and mellow body that wraps the palate. The close is long and satisfying, leaving a agreeable aftertaste. Overall, a top notch wine with a lot of potential.
Naaila
Remarkably light and smooth wine for its age, with a fruity profile reflective of Pinot Noir, significantly black cherries. The structure is well-balanced, making it an enticing favorite for a 40-year-old wine.
Gahee
Impressive Pinot that truly shines back home. Its deep nose is a perfect cohesion of black cherry, kirsch, and truffle, and yet the mouthfeel is a masterclass in subtlety and nuance. A true gem for any Pinot enthusiast.

Domaine Pierre Gelin Fixin 1er Cru 'Clos Napoléon' is praised for its smooth, well-balanced profile with notes of black cherry, red fruit, and earthy undertones. The wine's elegance and complexity are highlighted by its silky tannins and long finish. While some find it a standout with a rich, full-bodied character, others note a touch of bitterness. It pairs well with hearty dishes and has aging potential.
