Voss Expert4.5/5

Voss Expert tasting note

Davide Pinot Nero presents with a translucent ruby hue, indicative of its varietal purity. The bouquet unfolds with a delicate interplay of wild strawberries, red currants, and a whisper of forest floor, underscored by a subtle hint of clove spice. On the palate, this wine is a masterclass in balance, offering a silky texture that carries vibrant acidity and finely-grained tannins. The mid-palate reveals layers of cherry compote and a touch of savory herb, culminating in a finish that is both elegant and persistent. This Pinot Nero exemplifies the finesse and complexity expected from a top-tier expression of the varietal.

Davide Pinot Nero is crafted from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the cool-climate vineyards of northern Italy, where the alpine breezes contribute to the wine's vibrant acidity and delicate structure. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo a gentle fermentation process in stainless steel tanks to preserve the purity of fruit flavors. A portion of the wine is aged in neutral oak barrels, enhancing its complexity without overshadowing the varietal character. This Pinot Nero offers a balanced profile with red berry notes, subtle earthiness, and a smooth finish, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a refined and approachable red wine.
