Voss Expert tasting note
This Crystallum The Agnes Chardonnay offers a nose of citrus and white flowers, with a hint of honey, pear, and a touch of smokiness. On the palate, the wine is crisp and lively, with a good balance of acidity and a full body.

Balanced blend of elegant peach and white fruit notes, with a touch of richness, provides a soft and graceful mouthfeel. The cohesion is well-tempered, with a whisper of earthy undertones, suggesting a more rustic and natural approach. The all around character is reminding of a classic Burgundy, with a slightly more pronounced fruitiness.

Seamless blend of fruit from five esteemed vineyards, featuring a voluptuous and textured profile. The profile is distinguished by a nuanced interplay of spice, earth, and a lean minerality, culminating in a remarkably long and satisfying finish. The wine's feel is round and rounded, with a delicate intensity that belies its full-bodied nature. Paired with a judicious application of salt, this wine truly shines. A truly amazing experience.

As the autumn season approaches, I'm excited to share my thoughts on a recent tasting. The classy Hemel en Aarde Chardonnay is a delightful wine. Specializing in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Crystallum's multi-vineyard blend from Hemel en Aarde and Overberg is a standout. Fermented and aged for 11 months in oak, this wine is a masterclass in evenness and complexity. The initial whispers of butter and barnyard give way to the release of citrus blossom, ripe fruit, and a graceful blend of flavors. With time in bottle, the wine will only improve, and I highly recommend it.

This Chardonnay is praised for its Burgundian elegance with balanced citrus, stone fruit, and oak notes. Reviewers highlight its smooth texture and refined minerality, though some note a slightly pronounced fruitiness compared to classic Burgundy. While excellent now, many suggest aging potential.
