A soft and creamy wine with a subtle whisper of oak, reflective of a well-aged vanilla bean

Wine with a rich, fruity character and a deep profile, unfortunately, it shows its age on the second day, resulting in a slightly diminished quality.

Opulent and full-bodied Syrah with a sophisticated smell of deep fruit notes, containing cherry, blackcurrant, and dried apricot. The nose is refreshed by the boldness of red fruit aromas, meanwhile the palate is cleansed by a smooth and gentle texture. The tanginess is well-balanced, and the tannins are soft and refined. A perfect pairing for game meats, such as venison, and can be enjoyed on its own. The linger is long and satisfying, with a clean quality that leaves the tasting feeling quenching and comfortable.

What the web is saying

Combier Syrah is praised for its rich, full-bodied character with deep fruit notes like cherry, blackcurrant, and blueberries. It offers a smooth, velvety texture with hints of oak and butter, making it a delightful experience. While some appreciate its complexity and balance, others note a decline in quality after opening. It pairs well with game meats and is recommended for those who enjoy fruit-forward wines.

Voss Experts4.5

Exhibiting a deep garnet hue, the Combier Syrah opens with an aromatic bouquet of blackcurrant, cracked black pepper, and violet, underscored by subtle hints of smoked meat and graphite. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious balance of ripe dark fruit and savory elements, supported by firm, well-integrated tannins and a vibrant acidity that lends freshness and length. The wine's medium to full body and refined texture culminate in a lingering finish with nuances of licorice and mineral undertones. This Syrah stands as a quintessential expression of Rhône Valley elegance and complexity.
