What the web is saying

Château d'Yquem Sauternes is celebrated for its luscious sweetness, complex aromas of honey, apricot, and tropical fruits, and a long, satisfying finish. While many praise its harmonious balance of sweetness and acidity, some find it overly sweet. The wine is often described as a masterpiece, with a rich, velvety texture and a refined, elegant character that pairs well with desserts and cheeses.

Voss Experts4.9

This Château d'Yquem Sauternes has an intense, golden yellow color. On the nose, it has aromas of honey, tropical fruits, and a hint of citrus. On the palate, the wine is rich and silky, with flavors of honey, pineapple, and apricot. The finish is long and balanced, with a lingering sweetness. Overall, this is an excellent example of a classic Sauternes.

We are 50+ wine professionals (sommeliers, buyers, MW candidates) across the US, UK, France, Greece, Italy, and beyond. We review wines via blind tastings with a standardized rubric, using both 100-point and 5-star scales.
