Our 6th wine from our dinner with Catena Zapata. Last one! Just to disclaimer we have tried the entire range before on different occasions so it was my first time trying the Mundus Basillus.

Rich, full-bodied Malbec with immense potential, boasting a complex character of black cherry, black plum, mulberry, licorice, and black pepper. Its powerful feel and high tannins make it a demanding wine that requires patience to fully appreciate. A worthwhile investment for those willing to wait.

Intricate and layered wine with a rich, supple texture, this 2011 Mundus Bacillus Terrae Malbec is a masterclass in terroir-driven winemaking. The nose is outlined by a light smokiness, complemented by the freshness of mint and the sweetness of licorice, meanwhile the taste is adorned with the deep, deep fruit of blackberry and black cherry. The lasting impression is long and satisfying, with traces of lavender and chocolate. A truly elite wine, it is best savored slowly, allowing its full richness to unfold.
