Castello dei Rampolla d'Alceo is an exceptional wine that showcases the best of Italian winemaking. This red wine is produced in the heart of Tuscany, specifically in the Chianti Classico region. It is a blend of predominantly Sangiovese grapes, with a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon added to enhance its complexity. On the nose, Castello dei Rampolla d'Alceo offers a bouquet of ripe dark fruits, such as blackberries and plums, accompanied by hints of forest floor and spices. The aromas are rich and inviting, promising a delightful tasting experience. When it comes to the palate, this wine does not disappoint. It boasts a full-bodied and velvety texture, with well-integrated tannins that provide structure and balance. The flavors are intense and concentrated, with notes of black cherries, cassis, and dark chocolate. There is also a touch of earthiness, adding depth and complexity to the overall profile. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a pleasant aftertaste that invites you to take another sip. Castello dei Rampolla d'Alceo is a wine that can be enjoyed now, but it also has great aging potential. With proper cellaring, it will continue to evolve and develop additional layers of complexity over the years.

Kovaski Mamno
Well-balanced blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Sangiovese, with a voluptuous and mellow texture. The nose is noted for by rich fruit notes, meanwhile the texture is round and refined, with a smooth integration of tannins and oak.

Wine with a decadent history, first released in 1996, has been recognized as Italy's top wine by Gambero Rosso, a prestigious Italian wine authority. The wine's composition has undergone a significant transformation over the years, with a notable increase in Petit Verdot's share from 100% to 15%.
Dipanjan
Delightful impression finally unfolded, and it's been on my long-held wish list for years. The moment of discovery was marked by a soft undertone of Amarone, which led me to suspect the wine's origins. A hot vintage in 03 presented a sweet and drinkable character, but it was the Sangiovese that ultimately revealed itself, its strength a welcome respite from the Amarone's dominance. Despite the challenge of attributing the wine's provenance, I was able to discern the Tuscany connection, a testament to the wine's layers and nuance.

Castello dei Rampolla d'Alceo is celebrated for its sophisticated Super Tuscan blends combining Cabernet Sauvignon with Petit Verdot/Sangiovese. Reviewers praise its complex profile of black fruits, forest floor, and leather, supported by silky tannins and elegant oak integration. While some younger vintages show tight tannins needing aging, most vintages display remarkable balance and aging potential. The wine's evolving structure and earthy depth impress enthusiasts, though occasional critics note overly assertive tannins in youth.
