Decent Jumilla, with a balanced approach and charming flavors, but not overly assertive.

Substantial and inviting red, boasting a robust and full-bodied texture, with a generous amount of rustic character. The weight of ripe plum, dense berries, pepper, herbs, and licorice adds layers and intricacy to this voluptuous and full-bodied wine.

What the web is saying

Casa Castillo Monastrell is praised for its rich, full-bodied character and robust flavors of black fruits, plum, and spices. While some appreciate its smooth tannins and balanced profile, others find it slightly overwhelming in acidity. The wine's rustic charm and affordability are consistently highlighted, making it a popular choice for pairing with hearty dishes.

Voss Experts4.0

This medium-bodied Monastrell from Casa Castillo is an intense, full-bodied red, boasting deep, dark berry and cherry fruit aromas with hints of spice, herbs, and earth. On the palate, it reveals a rich, velvety texture and a balanced structure, with a long, satisfying finish. Enjoy this wine with grilled red meats or robust pasta dishes.
