Cacchiano Millennio Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2020

Polished and mature Italian red wine with a rich, layered character. The nose is highlighted by by oak, leather, and concentrated fruit, with suggestions of cherry and game. As it opens, the wine reveals a nuanced vanilla note that adds substance and nuance. The flavor is firm and structured, with tannins that provide a fulfilling grip. The notes unfold gradually, with deep fruit and cherry emerging early, followed by oak and vanilla that integrate smoothly. The conclusion is long and satisfying, with a mild fade that leaves the sensation feeling full and content. The wine shows excellent ageing potential, and I would recommend it for those looking for a classic, well-crafted Italian red.

Decadent and evolved wine pleasure unfolds, with a harmonious integration of sweet and savory notes, expertly woven together. The layers of cherry and cranberry provide a fruity foundation, as the subtle notes of tobacco, liquorice, and chocolate add dimension and nuance. The earthy and woody suggestions of oak and leather enhance the in total character, creating a long and enjoyable finish. The tannins, while present, are well-integrated, adding structure and stability to the wine. A truly amazing wine, with a profile that is both full bodied and refined.
