Borsao Bodegas Garnacha — Rated 3.8 Good

2017

Koriann Harwith

A significant departure from the 2016 vintage, this 2017 wine now features a screw-top closure, which some might find preferable. However, it also boasts a more pronounced residual sugar level, which may be off-putting to some. The wine's fruit and tannin profiles have intensified slightly after an hour, but this may be a result of the aging process. It's worth noting that Winebow, the mega-importer, may have introduced a more casual style to the co-op's offerings, which has led to a reevaluation of this wine's value. Despite its price point, it's clear that this wine is not for everyone, and its unique characteristics may not appeal to those searching for a more traditional Spanish wine experience.

Gorazio

Rich, full-bodied Garnacha with a round grip and a deep, opaque color. Its undertones are sophisticated and layered, with flavors of cherry, plum, blackberry, prune, and chocolate, which are even by nuanced touches of smoke and leather.
