Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2019

Renato's 2nd contribution to the tasting, a renowned Biondi-Santi, aged for 36 months in Slavonian oak. Fruity flavors of cherries, nuances of orange, tobacco, and red flowers mingle with the presence of thyme, even as a backdrop of barnyard, smoky spices, and delicate mushrooms adds depth. The impression is defined by tart red fruit, angular texture, and a satisfying acidity, with remarkable chalky minerals. A truly impressive wine, but one that requires patience to fully appreciate its potential. 4.7/5 stars, with a promising future. 10 years from now, it will be a knockout.

Opulent and complex wine with a deep, earthy character. The layers of leather, tobacco, and cigar box are well-integrated, though the sour cherry hints add a touch of bitterness. The tannins are finely grained and grippy, consistent by high acidity. This is a wine that rewards patience and contemplation, providing a opulent and enjoyable consuming experience. It's a wine to savor and reflect on.

Remarkable wine for a challenging year, boasting a rich, nuanced nose featuring oak, smokiness, and layers of citrus. On the palate, it demonstrates a faint integration of sweetness, fruitiness, and savory notes, with a delightful finish.
