Complex and alluring wine with a rich, spicy, and leathery bouquet, matched by a dry, sharp finish. The tannins provide a firm structure, in contrast the bracing quality adds a touch of brightness. However, the wine's acidity is somewhat overpowered by a slight sharpness, detracting from the ultimately experience. Decanting is recommended to allow the wine to relax and integrate its flavors. After 3 hours of opening, the bracing quality has mellowed, making the wine a more pleasing experience.

Seamless integration of wet leaves and red fruits, with a medium body and tannin profile that provides a supple finish.

What the web is saying

Benanti Etna Rosso is praised for its rich, full-bodied profile with notes of red fruits, spices, and a mineral undertone. While some appreciate its complex flavors and smooth tannins, others find the acidity overpowering. The wine's earthy and flinty aromas are well-liked, but its sharp finish can be divisive. Overall, it offers a harmonious blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, making it a versatile choice for various pairings.

Voss Experts4.0

Benanti Etna Rosso is a powerful, full-bodied red wine from Sicily's Mount Etna region. On the nose, it offers aromas of ripe cherries, blackberries and a hint of flinty minerals. On the palate, this wine is rich and robust, with dense, concentrated fruit flavors and a long, spicy finish. Enjoy this wine now or cellar for up to 15 years.
