Rich, full-bodied wine with a long, enjoyable finish. A deep, deep red color emerges from the bottle. The wine is surprisingly approachable, with layers of sweet currants, warm spices, and a wisp of mild pepper. A stellar recommendation for everyday drinking, I look forward to revisiting this wine in the future.

What the web is saying

Ballard Lane Cabernet Sauvignon receives praise for its fruit-forward profile and smooth finishes, with multiple vintages described as full-bodied and rich in dark fruit flavors. While some appreciate its excellent value and approachable tannins, others note occasional short finishes and muted complexity. The wine is frequently recommended for everyday drinking and pairs well with grilled meats.

Voss Experts4.5

The Ballard Lane Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a rich bouquet of dark fruits, predominantly blackcurrant and blackberry, intertwined with subtle notes of cedar and vanilla from oak aging. On the palate, it reveals a smooth and plush texture, showcasing flavors of ripe plum and blackcurrant complemented by hints of mocha and dark chocolate. The tannins are firm yet well-integrated, providing structure without being overpowering the fruit. As the wine lingers, a touch of licorice emerges, along with a whisper of spice. The finish is moderate and slightly warming, leaving a pleasant echo of fruit and oak that invites another sip.
