I was aware of the challenges this vintage presented, thanks to the ratings from previous users. Decanting for 2 hours helped to mitigate the effects.\n\nThe wine's initial touch was led by by sweet strawberry and cherry notes, but these were soon overpowered by a lingering pungency and a note of cedar.\n\nThe profile was similarly affected, with the sweetness giving way to a sour cherry and a lingering tartness. The volatile tartness was still present, though it was somewhat tempered by the decanting process.\n\nWhile I would normally have enjoyed this wine, I was left underwhelmed by its performance this year. I would consider revisiting another vintage in the future.
Jodney Francella
The wine's layered character is noted for by a seamless seamlessness of dried apricot and cherry notes, with a mild fruit suggestion that adds dimension to the as a whole profile. A dry tail is present, leaving the texture feeling refreshed and cleansed.

Ant Moore Estate Pinot Noir offers a mix of experiences. While some appreciate its smooth, easy-drinking quality and layered notes of dried apricot and cherry, others find it underwhelming due to a lingering tartness and one-dimensional finish. The wine's earthy, berry aromas are noted, but a barnyard nose detracts for some. It's a decent choice for everyday drinking, especially when decanted.
A luminous garnet hue introduces this refined Pinot Noir, offering a bouquet of ripe red cherries, wild strawberries, and a whisper of forest floor. The palate is elegantly structured, with silky tannins and a vibrant acidity that frames the core of red fruit and subtle spice. Notes of clove and a hint of dried herbs add complexity, leading to a lingering, mineral-driven finish. This wine exemplifies the finesse and balance characteristic of premium New Zealand Pinot Noir, making it a compelling choice for those seeking a nuanced expression of the varietal.
