Opulent and multi faceted nose with a perfect equilibrium of sweet and savory notes, featuring whispers of cherry, spice, and oak, supported by blackberry, cassis, and a crisp cranberry finish. A captivating worth for the price.

Wine with a soft, sour character, it was a decent effort, but ultimately unremarkable in my assessment. The feel of blueberry subtle flavors is a notable feature, but it did not elevate the wine to a truly memorable level.

What the web is saying

Anciano Clásico Garnacha is praised for its rich fruit flavors, smooth texture, and well-balanced profile. Many enjoy its notes of cherry, blackberry, and spice, with some appreciating its opulent nose and nuanced depth. However, a few find it unremarkable or needing time to open up. Its dry finish and integrated tannins make it a versatile choice for pairing with various dishes.

Voss Experts4.4

Displaying a vibrant ruby hue, the Anciano Clásico Garnacha offers an expressive bouquet of ripe red cherries, wild strawberries, and a hint of dried herbs, underscored by a subtle mineral edge. On the palate, it reveals a medium-bodied structure with silky tannins and a lively acidity that frames the fruit-forward profile. The wine's complexity is further enhanced by notes of black pepper and a whisper of anise, leading to a harmonious, lingering finish. This Garnacha exemplifies the classic style of its Spanish origins, offering both immediate appeal and potential for short-term cellaring.
