Osmote is a Finger Lakes winery that began in 2014 as a tenant winery within a larger facility. In 2020, it moved to its own facility in Ovid, New York. The Osmote family is Ben, Brittnie and Mia, with Ben Riccardi serving as winemaker and business manager.

The family lives on a 31-acre farm in Burdett, New York, overlooking the water on Seneca Lake’s eastern shore. This site sits 950 feet above sea level, slopes west toward the lake and has Howard Series gravelly loam soils formed as glacial outwash. In June 2024, they planted their first vineyard blocks above their home: 2 acres of Aromella and 2 acres of Marquette. Osmote produces under 24,000 bottles a year, with naturally fermented wines built around freshness, texture and restraint.
