Marjan Simčič's vineyard in Medana was placed in the first class in Emperor Joseph II's Classification of Wines in 1786. In 1860, Jožef Simčič purchased a farm in Medana and began vine growing and winemaking. Jožef's son Anton inherited the business, and later his sons Nando, Pavel, and Teodor took on different roles. After World War II, parts of their property were nationalized, leaving Teodor and his son Salko to continue. Winemaker Marjan Simčič is a fifth generation of the winemaking family, and his first wine harvest at Simčič Domaine was in 1988. In 1997, a new modern wine cellar was constructed in Ceglo near Medana.

The estate is in the Brda wine region, where all estate vineyards are situated in the Medana cadastre and farmed with organic viticulture. Grapes grown are Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Ribolla Gialla, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Vert.
On VinoVoss, Marjan Simčič has 3 wines in stock: 1 red, 2 white. Their average rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 37 ratings.
