Viña Koyle was created by the Undurraga family, continuing a Chilean winemaking tradition dating back to 1885. The winery was founded in 2006 when Alfonso Undurraga purchased Fundo Los Lingues and, together with his son Cristóbal, began planting vineyards.

Koyle is situated in the heart of Los Lingues in Alto Colchagua, where Finca Los Lingues has a Mediterranean foothill microclimate featuring cool mountain breezes. The vines are farmed using organic and biodynamic viticulture, and Koyle began its transition to biodynamic agriculture in 2009 by working with the Demeter International Biodynamic Federation. The winery practices minimal-intervention winemaking, where grapes are hand-harvested and each wine ferments with indigenous wild yeasts. Its wines include AUMA and Cerro Basalto, and in 2012, Royale Carmenere 2010 was named among Wine Spectator's Top 100 wines.
