Jansz began making sparkling wine in 1986, when Champagne house Louis Roederer partnered with Heemskerk Wines to plant Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines in Pipers River. The Hill-Smith Family purchased the property in 1998. Teresa Heuzenroeder is the winemaker.

The winery is based in the Pipers River region of Northern Tasmania, with vineyards located by Launceston and in the Coal River Valley in southern Tasmania. Sparkling wines are crafted using the méthode traditionnelle, undergoing a second fermentation in the bottle before resting on lees.
On VinoVoss, Jansz has 2 wines in stock: 2 sparkling. Their average rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 132 ratings.
