Huia is a wine producer established by Claire and Mike Allan in 1994, with a home block in Rapaura. The estate passed to Tom Pegler in 2022 through a succession rooted in a shared belief in small-scale artisan winemaking. Winemaker Josh Lee makes its wines.

The 6.5-hectare home block lies alongside the Wairau River, where free-draining alluvial soils contain layers of gravel, sand and silt. Huia nurtures the land through organic, biodynamic and regenerative practices. An additional 10 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc at Cat Creek were scheduled to join the estate from May 2025. In the winery, Huia favours native fermentation methods such as Pied de Cuve and uses oak barrels, puncheons and large oak cuves. Its wines include sparkling wines made using traditional méthode champenoise.
On VinoVoss, Huia has 5 wines in stock: 1 red, 3 white, 1 sparkling. Their average rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 83 ratings.
