EGO

EGO is a winery near the historic centre of Jumilla, founded in 2011 by Santos Ortiz and Ioana Paunescu. The pair started with limited resources but extensive experience in project development, finance, marketing and sales. Their first wine was named Talento. The winery owns 35 hectares of vineyards, planted mainly with Monastrell. The grapes are harvested by hand in 15 kg boxes, then pass over a sorting table that allows them to enter the winery almost whole. Grapes from each vineyard are fermented separately in steel tanks with capacities ranging from 4,000 to 12,000 kg. Its wines include Ego, Talento and Infinito.
