Château Saint-Pierre was bought and renamed in the 1760s by Baron Jean-Baptiste de Saint-Pierre. In 1855, Château Saint-Pierre was classified as a Fourth Grand Cru Classé, placing first in its category.

The château and its park are located in the historic village of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, in the Saint-Julien appellation. The average age of the vines is around 60 years, and the grapes grown are 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. Farming practices include manual harvest with intra-plot selection, while winemaking consists of traditional vinification and aging in barrels for 14 to 16 months. Annual production is approximately 80,000 bottles.
