Vineyard traces at Château Laplagnotte-Bellevue date back to at least 1868. In 1954, a land exchange set the estate's vineyard area to 6.09 hectares. The estate has been owned by Henry and Claude de Labarre since March 3, 1990, and Henry de Labarre oversaw all cellar renovations at the estate. Located 3 km northeast of Saint-Émilion in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, the 5.5-hectare estate has clay-sandy soil with traces of alios iron pan, managed by plowing. Varieties grown are 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, with an average vine age of 30 years, a planting density of 6,000 vines per hectare, and yields of 47 hl/ha. Grapes are harvested by hand with rigorous sorting, then vinified in small temperature-controlled concrete vats with a 20- to 25-day maceration period. Malolactic fermentation occurs in concrete vats, followed by barrel aging for one year with 25% new barrels, and its wines include Château Laplagnotte-Bellevue Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.
