Château La Conseillante is a wine estate in the Pomerol appellation, acquired by the Nicolas family in 1871. The brothers Louis and Nicolas Nicolas established the wine trading company Nicolas Frères and became the estate’s owners. In 1971, Francis and his cousin Bernard Nicolas became co-managers of the estate. Since 2003, Bertrand and Jean-Valmy Nicolas have carried on the family story as its fifth generation.

Its 11.79-hectare vineyard comprises 16 parcels on the soils of Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, planted with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The oldest parcel was planted in 1958, and vines are pruned in simple or mixed Guyot. A parcel-by-parcel vat room was built in 2012, and ageing uses new barrels, barrels previously used for one wine, and amphorae. Its wines include Duo de Conseillante, created in 2007 and produced from two sandier parcels.
