Château Guimberteau is a Guimberteau family wine estate in the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation. The family’s history probably dates to 1717, with records documenting vineyard and land ownership in the 18th century. In 1983, manager Jean-Luc stopped growing other crops to focus on vineyard and cellar work and expanded the estate. The wine was sold to Établissements Moueix until the 1990s. In 2000, Jeffery Guimberteau joined his parents and grandparents at the estate after studying viticulture and winemaking. He is the estate’s winemaker.

The estate’s wine blends 70% Merlot with 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Traditional vinification involves long maceration followed by a few months in oak barrels before bottling. Its wines include Les Mémoires du Château Guimberteau and Léon-Jules de Guimberteau.
