Château Gruaud Larose is a wine estate in Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, established in 1725. Since its founding, leadership has passed successively through the Gruaud & Larose, Balguerie and Sarget, Cordier and Merlaut families. Jean Merlaut is the owner, with Virginie Sallette as technical director.

Its wines include Gruaud Larose and Sarget. Work to convert to organic agriculture began with the 2019 vintage, leading to organic certification for the 2022 vintage. In the vineyards, sheep graze during the vines’ winter dormancy to control grass growth naturally. Alongside this grazing, the estate uses biodynamic practices, including teas made from different plants to help control certain parasites or supply trace elements to the vines.
