Château de Chantegrive is a wine estate in Podensac, in the Graves region, founded in 1966 by Henri and Françoise Lévêque. The founders sold their stamp collection to buy their first two hectares of vines. In 2006, guidance from oenologist Hubert de Boüard gave the estate a boost. Henri died in 2009, and by 2016 the five Lévêque children had taken over management alongside their mother. A cellar holding up to 600 barrels was built for ageing red wines in 1987. In 1988, the estate introduced Burgundy fermentation and ageing techniques, including stirring its white wines on the lees in oak barrels. Its wines include its flagship Cuvée Caroline, given a dedicated 300-barrel cellar in 1998. Its Graves white spends nine months in barrel, and its Graves reds 12–18 months. The estate received High Environmental Value level 3 certification in July 2017.
