Château Bellevue Peycharneau is a wine estate in Pineuilh, Gironde. It belonged to the same family of winegrowers for several generations before being acquired by lovers of the vine. The 15-hectare estate lies in the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation, with vineyards on a north-facing clay-limestone slope and a rocky plateau. Here, Merlot accounts for 65% of plantings, Cabernet Sauvignon 20% and Cabernet Franc 15%. Short pruning limits production from the 5,000 vines per hectare, while traditional cultivation and controlled plant-protection treatments are complemented by bunch thinning in July. Work continues in the cellar with traditional Bordeaux vinification in temperature-controlled, 100-hectolitre stainless steel vats, with 15–20 days of vatting. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in new oak barrels for more than a year.
