The name of the winery, Cepas Elegidas, translates to Chosen Vines. Arizona-born Brennan Firth first visited Argentina at the age of 23 and moved to Mendoza a year later. In addition to being the founder of the winery, he is the winemaker behind the wines.

Grapes for the wines are sourced from sustainable farms and are harvested by hand, and its wines include Malbec from Mendoza. During the winemaking process, the wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts and without the addition of enzymes. The winery maintains an annual production that varies between 5,000 and 25,000 bottles.
