Yacoubian-Hobbs Sarpina Dry Areni 2017

Yacoubian-Hobbs Sarpina Dry Areni is praised for its rich, layered flavors of black cherry, ripe plum, and spices, with a velvety texture and nuanced depth. Some find it opulent and complex, while others appreciate its smooth, silky structure. The wine's subtle oak and chocolate undertones add to its allure. Although expensive, many consider it a worthwhile investment for special occasions.

This Armenian gem, crafted from the indigenous Areni grape, presents a vibrant ruby hue that preludes its aromatic complexity. The nose is a tapestry of red currant, wild cherry, and subtle hints of dried herbs, underscored by a whisper of earthy minerality. On the palate, it reveals a medium-bodied structure with finely-grained tannins and a lively acidity that frames the fruit-forward core. The finish is elegantly prolonged, with notes of pomegranate and a touch of white pepper. This wine exemplifies the unique terroir of Vayots Dzor, offering a compelling expression of Armenia's winemaking potential.
