Voss Expert tasting note

This Armenian red showcases the unique character of the Areni grape with a deep ruby hue and a bouquet that intertwines black cherry, wild herbs, and a hint of earthy minerality. On the palate, it offers a medium-bodied structure with finely grained tannins and a vibrant acidity that elevates its red fruit core. Subtle notes of dried rose petals and a whisper of spice add complexity, leading to a persistent, elegant finish. This wine is a testament to the potential of Armenian terroir, offering both immediate pleasure and the promise of graceful aging.

Yacoubian-Hobbs Areni is crafted from the Areni grape, indigenous to Armenia's Vayots Dzor region. The vineyard benefits from a high-altitude setting, with cool nights preserving acidity and warm days promoting ripeness. The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel to maintain varietal purity, followed by aging in neutral oak barrels to enhance texture without overshadowing the fruit. This dry red wine offers a balanced profile with notes of red berries and subtle spice, making it suitable for those who appreciate a fresh and vibrant style. Ideal for pairing with a variety of dishes, it showcases the unique terroir of Armenian viticulture.
