Deep and full-bodied Merlot, impeccably smooth with Petite Verdot and Petite Syrah, displaying a deep, deep fruit profile with mellow gentle tannins. The 4th fill barrel aging process allowed the fruit to flourish, resulting in a nuanced and classy wine that is sure to please even the most discerning palates.

Rich, full-bodied wine with a dry, soft touch and a intricate flavor profile that highlights the nuances of oak and blueberry notes.

What the web is saying

Wente Vineyards Sandstone Merlot is praised for its rich, full-bodied profile with notes of plum, blackberry, and chocolate. Many enjoy its smooth, velvety texture and balanced tannins, while some find it slightly acidic or lacking depth. The wine's oak and vanilla undertones are appreciated, offering a satisfying finish. While some find it a great value, others feel it could be more distinctive.

Voss Experts3.5

This Wente Vineyards Sandstone Merlot offers up a deep ruby hue in the glass and a nose of blackberry preserves, cedar, and sweet pipe forest floor. On the palate, it is a medium-bodied wine with flavors of cherry, black plum, and cocoa, balanced by toasted oak and a hint of earthiness in the finish.
