Viladellops Xarel-lo is a dry, earthy white wine hailing from the Penedès region in Catalonia, Spain. This wine is made from the Xarel-lo grape variety, best known for the role it plays in the sparkling wines of Cava. The grapes are sourced from organic vineyards on the Massís of Garraf, an area just inland from the Mediterranean Sea on calcareous hills. The harvest is done manually, before the grapes are sorted and fermented in French oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Maturation takes place on lees with occasional stirring in tanks prior to bottling.
