Alff
Delightful discovery, and a superb find in the heart of White Plains, too! Surprisingly, this wine has a lovely light flavor profile, and it's definitely a ideal entry-level Syrah. The brightness is crisp, the tannins are well-balanced, and the sweetness is abundant, with tones of red fruit, pepper, and a note of spice. A enjoyable surprise, indeed!
Shalvi
Pioneering Indian red wine, expressing the country's decadent winemaking traditions.
Suh
Decent Shiraz, but its hearty character is somewhat diminished by its relatively fleeting nature. The wine's understated nuances are lost to the passage of time, leaving it a faint and unremarkable representation of the full potential of the grape.

Sula Vineyards Shiraz offers a diverse experience. Many appreciate its rich, spicy notes and smooth tannins, especially when paired with spicy foods. Some find it lacks complexity, with fleeting flavors. The 2021 vintage is noted for its peppery, flinty aromas and smooth body, while older vintages are seen as less vibrant. Opinions vary, with some praising its uniqueness and others noting a lack of depth.
Displaying a deep garnet hue, the Sula Vineyards Shiraz opens with a bouquet of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and subtle hints of cracked black pepper, underscored by a whisper of flinty oak. On the palate, this Indian Shiraz reveals a medium to full-bodied structure, with velvety tannins and a vibrant acidity that provides a refreshing lift. The flavor profile is complex, showcasing layers of plum, licorice, and a touch of earthy minerality. The finish is long and satisfying, with a lingering spice that nods to the warm Nashik terroir. A commendable expression of New World Shiraz, offering both approachability and depth.
