Stroppiana Altea Barbera d'Alba Superiore is a refined expression of 100% Barbera, produced in the prestigious appellation of Barbera d'Alba. The vineyards are located in Rivalta di La Morra and Bussia di Monforte d'Alba, with a mix of clay-rich soils and ideal southeast and southwest exposures at 400 meters above sea level. The vines, planted between 1980 and 2000, yield grapes harvested in late September. The wine undergoes a 10-day fermentation on the skins with regular pumping over to enhance its deep garnet color. After fermentation, it matures for 12 months in French oak tonneaux, lending structure and complexity. Stroppiana Altea Barbera d'Alba Superiore is a vibrant, well-balanced wine with rich fruit flavors, smooth tannins, and a long, elegant finish.
