Barima
Rich, mellow wine with a deep, opaque color. The nose is shaped by by a detailed array of flavors, bringing black cherry, fudge brownie, vanilla, and lavender. The texture is outlined by bright red fruit, rose petal, and a smooth, inviting texture. The conclusion is long and pleasant, with a delicate suggestion of tannins. The wine is aged in French oak for 9-14 months on lees, which adds layers and complexity. The ABV is 14.1%, and the wine is well-balanced and easy to drink. The quality of the wine is comparable to that of the '13, '15, and '16, and multiple glasses are highly recommended. A stellar investment for the price.
