I was pleasantly surprised by this Bordeaux-like wine's appealing nose of red fruits, comprising cherry, sour cherry, and gooseberries, which were prominent. The wine's crimson red colour, medium bodied, round tannins, and nicely seamless freshness were also noteworthy. The fresh, fruity flavours, with vanilla and chocolate, were well-balanced and refreshing. The wine's medium-long linger was satisfying, with a note of menthol. Overall, I found this wine to be a stonking deal for the price. It received a 3.7/5 return.

Robust and polished blend of fruity and slightly acidic notes, with a surprising nuance of chocolate and cherry undertones.

What the web is saying

Seméli Mountain Sun Agiorgitiko - Syrah is appreciated for its rich, full-bodied texture and complex flavors of red and black fruits, chocolate, and vanilla. While some enjoy its smooth finish and balanced acidity, others find it sharp and acidic. The wine pairs well with meats and offers good value for its price, although some feel it lacks complexity. It is versatile for various occasions.

Voss Experts4.5

This Greek blend of Agiorgitiko and Syrah presents a deep ruby hue, inviting exploration. The bouquet unfolds with layers of ripe black cherry, plum, and a hint of black pepper, underscored by subtle notes of violet and earthy minerality. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with well-integrated tannins, offering a harmonious balance between its vibrant acidity and the richness of dark fruit flavors. The finish is long and refined, with whispers of cocoa and a touch of dried herbs. This wine exemplifies the elegance and complexity achievable in the Peloponnese region.
