Singular, high-quality expression from a single vineyard in a valley, with clay and silt (fluvial terraces). The nose is featured by intense and concentrated earthy notes, with suggestions of tobacco and leather, matched by intense black fruit. The impression is robust, full-bodied, and exudes a sense of tannic intensity, with a lingering finish. This wine is a notable among its peers, and its elite quality is likely to be appreciated in the years to come. It is a clear winner in the three single crus.

Voss Experts4.5

The Ricasoli CeniPrimo Gran Selezione Chianti Classico is an exceptional wine that showcases the best of the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany, Italy. On the nose, the Ricasoli CeniPrimo Gran Selezione Chianti Classico offers a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, intertwined with elegant floral notes of violets. There is also a subtle hint of spice, adding depth and intrigue to the aroma profile. The palate is equally impressive, with a harmonious balance between fruit, acidity, and tannins. The wine displays a medium to full body, with a velvety texture that coats the mouth. Flavors of red berries dominate, accompanied by hints of black pepper and a touch of earthiness. The tannins are well-integrated, providing structure and a long, lingering finish. This Gran Selezione Chianti Classico is a testament to the winemaking expertise of Ricasoli, one of the oldest wine estates in Italy. It pairs beautifully with traditional Tuscan dishes, such as grilled meats, hearty pasta dishes, and aged cheeses.
