The nose is influenced by by a rich, caramel-like dried fruit and sweet violets, with a fresh sour cherry and dried apricot undertone. The flavour profile is supple and silky, with a ripe black cherry and dried apricot sweetness, blended by a long, dry linger of red cherry and red currant. The sensation is racy and refreshing, with a delicate sweet vanilla and oak-like presence.

What the web is saying

Poliziano Rosso di Montepulciano is praised for its rich, full-bodied character with flavors of cherry, plum, and oak. Some find it well-balanced and versatile, ideal for pairing with Italian dishes, while others note a lack of depth and complexity. The wine's smooth tannins and fruity profile make it a pleasant, easy-drinking option, though some vintages are considered unremarkable. Overall, it offers good value for its price.

Voss Experts4.5

A vibrant ruby hue introduces this Rosso di Montepulciano, offering a bouquet that deftly intertwines ripe red cherry and plum with subtle undertones of dried herbs and a whisper of forest floor. On the palate, it reveals a medium-bodied structure, with polished tannins and a lively acidity that invigorates the fruit-forward core. The seamless integration of oak imparts a delicate spice, enhancing the wine's complexity without overshadowing its inherent freshness. The finish is persistent, echoing notes of red fruit and a touch of earthiness. This wine exemplifies the approachable yet refined nature of Montepulciano's offerings.
