The tannins continue to exert their authority over this wine, but the nose is a masterful blend of cassis, red fruit, and inky chocolate, with a gentle undertone of tobacco. The touch is deep and velvety, with a firm yet introductory grip. Overall, this wine is a triumph, with a long and enjoyable linger that will only improve with age.

The Piekenierskloof Pinotage 2020 is noted for its authoritative tannins and a masterful nose of cassis, red fruit, and inky chocolate, with forest floor undertones. It offers a deep, velvety touch and firm grip, promising improvement with age. While some appreciate its long, enjoyable linger, others may find the tannins dominant.
This Pinotage from Piekenierskloof presents a deep garnet hue, indicative of its robust character. The nose unfolds with layers of ripe black cherry and plum, intertwined with hints of dark chocolate and subtle earthy undertones. On the palate, it offers a full-bodied experience with velvety tannins and a vibrant acidity that balances the wine's inherent richness. The mid-palate reveals nuances of roasted coffee bean and a whisper of spice, leading to a long, satisfying finish. This wine exemplifies the distinctive style of South African Pinotage, showcasing both complexity and finesse, and is a commendable expression of its terroir.
