A young Brunello with fantastic potential, but needs time to mature and integrate its flavors. The nose is dominated by ripe fruit, with whispers of leather, tobacco, and earthy undertones. The taste is medium-bodied, with firm tannins and a dry finish. The undertones are complex, with raisins, tobacco, and earthy notes, as well as suggestions of black cherries, cocoa, and balsamic. The ending is long and slightly tart, with a lingering impression of licorice.
Hello Verlato
I acquired this wine in 2020 from Palagetto's vineyard in Tuscany. I believe it has reached its peak, with brown rims indicating advanced aging. The nose features a complex blend of cherry, oak, chocolate, and leather, with soft tannins and a zesty acidity. The winemaker's description of it as a 'smooth operator' is apt, as Carlos Sainz would say so. 100% Sangiovese is a personal favourite of mine, and I highly recommend it.

This Brunello di Montalcino is celebrated for its full-bodied complexity and smooth texture, featuring earthy undertones, cherry flavors, and balanced tannins. While some emphasize its aging potential, others note a slightly tart finish. Forest Floor and oak nuances add depth, though a few detect initial green notes.
A deep garnet hue introduces this Brunello, revealing a bouquet of ripe black cherry, dried rose petals, and a hint of anise. On the palate, the wine unfolds with impressive structure, showcasing fine-grained tannins and a vibrant acidity that harmonizes with layers of dark plum, leather, and a whisper of earthy minerality. The mid-palate is robust, yet elegant, leading to a long, savory finish accented by notes of cedar and a touch of balsamic reduction. This Brunello exemplifies the classic Montalcino style, promising both immediate pleasure and potential for graceful aging.
